Membership Roster Small Hotels of Palm Springs / Association of Owners & Managers is a private California Mutual-Benefit Not-for-Profit Corporation formed in 2004. It was created to provide Palm Springs' nearly seventy qualifying SMALLER (smaller meaning "typically" fifty or fewer rooms, suites and/or villas) and independently owned & operated resorts, hotels, inns and bed & breakfasts a cost effective opportunity to participate in and contribute to; 1) a collective professional small hotelier forum, 2) a collective consensus-driven political voice, and 3) the opportunity to pool their individually limited resources and collectively market their respective properties via this heavily marketed portal website - also known as a Virtual Co-Op Marketing Venue. SHoPS offer three levels of membership for small hotels in Palm Springs. Gold Membership: Includes detailed hotel description and photos on the SHOPS website as well as an active website link to the hotel and invitations to SHoPS events. A Gold Membership also includes the ability to have one (1) vote on SHOPS matters at meetings and to run for a board position. Gold members are entitled to vendor discounts from Local or Corporate non-hotel members. Gold Members are regularly highlighted on the SHoPS Facebook Page. Silver Membership: This is a reduced rate, second-tier membership, which includes a hyperlinked hotel name on website. A Silver Membership includes the ability to attend meetings and organizational events, but does not have voting privileges on SHOPS matters at meetings and may not hold office or a board position. Silver members are entitled to vendor discounts from Local or Corporate non-hotel members. Bronze Membership: This is a free membership tier. All hotels with fewer than 50 rooms are automatically included in this level unless they have paid for a higher level membership. Bronze members are listed on the SHoPS website, but without a hyperlink to their website. Bronze members may attend meetings and organizational events but do not have voting privileges on SHOPS matters at meetings and may not hold office or a board position. Bronze members are entitled to vendor discounts from Local or Corporate non-hotel members.
